Speaking in the Beach Hut, she said she had no resentment against either Curtis or Maura Higgins, who had been growing closer to Curtis over the last few days of Love Island.

Insiders revealed to The Sun that the show is set to be "an emotional watch" as Amy departs following her cruel dumping by Curtis, 23. This further upset Amy when Curtis taught Maura to dance, something Amy had asked him to do with her multiple times but he hadn't.

A source previously said: "It was Amy's decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience".

Love Island ended on a cliffhanger on Monday night as fans were left no knowing whether George and Lucie or Curtis and Amy would be sent home from the villa after finding themselves in the bottom three least popular couples.

The air stewardess's world fell apart after her "half-boyfriend" admitted that he wanted to recouple with Jourdan while Amy was in Casa Amor.

'It'll also be interesting for everyone to see the aftermath of her decision - in particular how Curtis will react to the news'.

Amy explained her decision to leave the villa to her fellow Islanders: "I have made some of the best friends I have ever had..." Because I don't want her to get to 40 and think, "My dad wouldn't let me go on TV when I was 26". It looks like we will see the fallout from her departure tonight.

"I don't care who knows it".

She added: "I want to leave in a positive way, surrounded by the people I love, like this".

"I did not imagine that first night I would meet this boy [Curtis] that would change my life and change my mindset. I love you all so much and I can not tell you what you've all done for me".

She went on to say: "I never thought I would fall in love, I never thought someone would make me feel so special that I would fall in love with them and I did and it makes me realise that that will happen for me again, just not in here".

Love Island 2019 continues tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
