"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside".

In their initial statement, a Love Island spokesperson said: "After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa".

Sherif Lanre has broken his silence on Instagram just hours after Love Island announced he had been removed from the villa due to "poor judgement" and "breaking the villa rules".

It's unclear how show bosses will address the situation on the show.

When he entered the villa, the chef and semi-pro rugby player said it was his job to bring the mood up on the island. He described himself as "upbeat and cheeky and outrageous" and prides himself on his ability to make people laugh.

Love Island then moved straight on to show the ins and outs of Joe Garratt and Lucie Donlan's first date together.

But the point of his departure, Sherif had been getting close to pharmacist Anna, who he was in a couple with.

Anna made a decision to stay with Sherif and chose to couple up with him again on Friday at the recoupling.

New reports claim the Love Island star spent "hours" alone in the shower before leaving the Villa.

Malia Arkian was the first person to get kicked out of the villa after an altercation with Kady McDermott.

It is understood she will remain on the show as a single participant for the time being.

One wrote: "Alright but has Sherif gone home or where he at?"

Anton showed his interest in Anna after just a few days in the villa and admitted his feelings to Sherif. You don't do that with me, not at all", to which Kady hit back: "I swear to God, if you want to get rowdy...that's a f**king joke.
