Madison Bumgarner irate at Max Muncy for pimping home run

Just six pitches into his start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Bumgarner served up a gorgeous bomb to Max Muncy, who admired his arcing shot as it landed in McCovey Cove. Bumgarner shouted at Muncy, "Don't watch the ball, run", before Muncy reached first base, and Muncy yelled back.

"Bumgarner said 'Don't watch the ball, run, ' and I just told him if he doesn't want me to watch the ball, go get it out of the ocean", Muncy said, according to Joe Davis of FOX Sports.

We shouldn't be surprised by Bumgarner's quotes. Bumgarner took exception to it, and the two exchanged words.

"He just struck a pose and walked further than I like, that's fine".

The fiery Bumgarner acknowledged he's struggling adapting to the new age of baseball with exaggerated bat flips and slow home run trots. They want to let everybody be themselves, then let me be myself.

Bumgarner looked like an idiot yelling at Muncy and, quite frankly, he needs to grow the hell up. That's me. You do your thing, I'll do mine. First of all, Muncy just hit a ball 428 feet, so please excuse him for not sprinting out of the batter's box. A one-run loss and one-run victory started and finished the series.

Kenley Jansen (S, 19, 2-1, 3.04 ERA) saved the shutout easily and the Giants were put to bed and handed a series loss.

Giants first baseman Brandon Belt was scratched from Sunday's starting lineup against the Dodgers after coming down with a stomach illness.

Joc Pederson left in the latter half of Saturday afternoon's game with the San Francisco Giants. Buster Posey (right hamstring strain) ran on a treadmill before the game and will run the bases during Monday's off day.
