Gennady Golovkin vs. Steve Rolls fight results

Fighting for the first time since losing his belts to Canelo in September past year, Golovkin knocked out the previously undefeated Steve Rolls in the fourth round on Saturday.

But in the back of everyone's mind was last week's shocking heavyweight upset that saw unheralded and overweight Andy Ruiz steal three titles by dismantling champion Anthony Joshua.

And Golovkin provided a reminder of his power after a ninth-month layoff to knock out the previously undefeated Rolls at Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

Golovkin, who was fighting under new trainer Johnathon Banks for the first time, now has a record of 39 wins, one draw and one defeat.

Meanwhile, with respect to his most recent victory, GGG said "I love knockouts and I love NY, it was a great night all around".

Will we see a rejuvenated GGG in his return to the ring and first fight under Banks' tutelage?

He split with long-time trainer Abel Sanchez and signed a lucrative six-fight deal with U.S. streaming company DAZN which may well smooth the way to a third bout with Alvarez, another DAZN fighter.

Golovkin sized him up by winning a close first round.

Rolls tried to get up off the canvas but was incoherent and couldn't stand up to beat the 10-count, ending the fight.

A solid third for both, with Golovkin landing the harder punches.

Following the devastating knockout, GGG took the mic to ask the roaring crowd who they wanted to see next, saying with a smile "Everybody knows". Right now, I feel completely different because I came back to my knockout. I'm ready for September. I'm ready. If you want big drama show, please tell him.
