Blair Witch releases on August 30th.

At Microsoft's E3 2019 presentation, Blair Witch, a videogame adaptation of the horror film franchise of the same name was announced. According to the developer, he "disappears in the Black Hills Forest in Maryland".

A trailer for the game features a police officer and his dog "Bullet" as they search for a missing person in the woods before they're haunted by all sorts of supernatural occurrences. What started as a noble pursuit becomes a torturous nightmare, as Ellis must face his dark past and the malevolent force of the Blair Witch.

Blair Witch is a first-person, story-driven psychological horror game based on the cinematic lore of Blair Witch. Like Layers of Fear before it, Blair Witch seems to eschew combat in favour of running away from a variety of demonic foes while scouring spooky looking environments for clues.

As an extra surprise, a blip popped up on-screen during the Blair Witch trailer confirming that the horror game will be releasing on Xbox Game Pass at launch. I particularly like the homage to the first film, wherein the main character dies just before seeing someone having a creepy time-out in the corner. Let us know in the comments! Though few details are known about the game right now, we'll be keeping our ears to the ground to get you all the scary gaming info as it comes in.
