With the Blue Jays in need of pitchers at the major league level, Jackson will get an opportunity that simply was not there in Oakland.

The White Sox are 9-11 in road games. The public betting for the contest now has 59 percent going on the White Sox on the road.

Chicago's Tim Anderson hit a solo homer off Sam Gaviglio in the fifth, and the White Sox cut it to 4-3 on Leurys Garcia's RBI groundout in the seventh. Guerrero finished 1-for-4 on Sunday.

Giolito (4-1) gave up four hits, matched his season high with eight strikeouts and improved to 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in his past four games. Ivan Nova got the win to improve to 2-3 on the year after allowing one run on five hits over six innings of work. Alonso and James McCann added two hits apiece.

Sanchez looked dominant until the fourth inning when Alonso hit a two-run homer off a 2-2 fastball over the centre-field wall for a 2-1 Chicago lead. Reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich is living up to that standard again (16 home runs) for the Brewers.

Aaron Sanchez threw strikeouts like they were going out of style, but a pair of fourth-inning home runs fashioned by the visitors doomed the Blue Jays in front of an announced crowd of 24,222 on Mother's Day Sunday at the Rogers Centre. He is 3-3 on the season with a 3.21 ERA. Stroman took his sixth loss for Toronto. Stroman worked 6 1/3 innings and allowed eight hits and four runs, three of which were earned. Randal Grichuk and Freddy Galvis each had two hits with an RBI with Grichuk hitting a solo homer and a triple while Galvis had a double. He also walked three batters and struck out six in a 99-pitch outing.

Tuesday's game marked Sanchez's longest start of the season and put him over 500 career innings pitched (500 1/3).

For the second straight game, there may be as much fan attention on Aaron Sanchez as there is from opponents' scouts as rumors persist the Blue Jays (16-23) will be sellers in the coming months as part of a rebuild.

Montoyo said he was impressed with Sanchez's ability to bounce back from a rough start to the game. He's not going to completely dominate, but does enough to compete. Toronto has just seven runs over its last five games.

"It was about making adjustments and to have a better approach at the plate, stop chasing bad pitches and stuff", Montoyo said of the objective of the hitters meeting. Chicago is 3-7 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
