As announced earlier, Realme enters the Chinese smartphone market with the all-new Realme X smartphone. Still, the company is stating that it's stepping into the flagship segment with this device, so let's check out what Realme's 10th smartphone release has to offer. In the last few quarters, the Realme smartphones gave a tough competition to Xiaomi's Redmi series. Both the smartphones take on the budget smartphone range claiming superior cameras and performance. It comes with the curved glossy finish body and will be available in Purple and White color options. Realme has achieved this by tucking the selfie camera into a motorized pop-up mechanism behind the display.

Realme X sports a 6.5 full HD+ bezel-less AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. The display is shielded by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. Realme X is powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset, the same chipset we've seen on the Realme 3 Pro, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Among the three variants, the 4GB+64GB version of Realme X will be priced at 1499 yuan (~$220), the 6GB+64GB at 1599 yuan (~$230), and the 8GB+128GB variant for 1799 yuan (~$260). Realme is touting that it is using UFS 2.1 for the storage, but we're not sure if it applies to all the three models or just the top model. At the back, there is dual-lens camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor along and f/1.7 aperture along with a 5MP secondary sensor and f/2.4 aperture. Further, the camera also supports 4K recording and slo-mo video at 960fps. Same as other OPPO devices, the Android skin comes with features like Frame Boost and Touch Boost, which in turn combine to make the core of the Game Boost 2.0. This display also houses a sixth-gen in-display fingerprint scanner from Synaptics. The smartphone is fuelled by a 4,045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C Port.

Realme's celebrating its one year anniversary in India this month but having been quite successful in the country over the past year, the company's just unveiled its first "global" smartphone in China - the Realme X.

Oddly enough there will be a couple of special editions dedicated to cooking with onion and garlic. The base model with 6GB RAM and 64GB is priced at CNY 1,499 (Rs 15,300 approx), while the 6GB+64GB variant will retail at CNY 1,599 (Rs 16,400 approx).

In China, Realme X Lite and Realme X will go on sale starting May 20.
