Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will headline a rally Monday night at Howard University that also features Massachusetts Sen.

The Sunrise Movement's nationwide tour is over, but the group says it is continuing to push for the Green New Deal through the work of local chapters all over the country.

The rally comes as rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination criticize former Vice President Joe Biden over his yet-to-be-released climate plan. To combat what she and Sanders portray as an existential threat, the freshman congresswoman has proposed her radical "Green New Deal", which even CNN admits would "fundamentally overhaul the USA economy", and includes unsustainable promises, like a federal jobs guarantee and complete carbon neutrality in ten years - costing what a former director of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates could cost anywhere from $50 trillion to over $90 trillion over ten years.

"That is too much for me", Ocasio-Cortez said.

The Sunrise Movement says it is eager to hear Biden's plans and hopeful that he'll align himself with the national grassroots campaign, presidential candidates including Sens.

"We're not going to solve the climate crisis w/ this lack of leadership", she said. "Our kids' lives are at stake", Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Friday in an apparent shot at Joe Biden.

"We do need to finish this green revolution in a way that is rational, that we can do it, afford it and get it done now", he said Monday in Hampton, New Hampshire.

A Tuesday Fox News segment discussing NY congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez endorsing a 2020 candidate prompted a snide series of comments about her physical appearance and intelligence.

Biden said he would be making a "major speech" to detail his environmental policy by the end of the month. Published reports suggest Biden is seeking "middle ground" on climate, a phrase that drew loud boos from the mostly young crowd at Monday night's rally, along with the mention of Biden's name. "Tell her to check the statements that I made, and look at my record".

He was also spotted in the critical early primary state talking with voters wearing a sticker that said "Protect People, Not Polluters".

Frequent Fox News correspondent and Fox Business Network anchor Dagen McDowell took several shots at the freshman Democrat Tuesday, offering the advice that "beauty fades, stupid is forever", although not explicitly directing it at Ocasio-Cortez. Biden has sought to elevate his credentials as a centrist in a crowded Democratic field with candidates touting progressive policies on a range of issues, including support for a Green New Deal.

Sanders' team has said he and Ocasio-Cortez "have had phone calls". Bernie Sanders rallied support for the Green New Deal on Monday night, with the NY congresswoman saying there should be "no middle ground" when it comes to climate change and the Vermont senator calling for a political revolution.

"But I can't tell you that today", Ocasio-Cortez said.
