HTC isn't dead yet, promises Android 9 updates this month

As early as August a year ago, HTC announced that several U phones are getting a slice of Android 9 Pie. While the announcement is official, the company should keep up with it's promise to deliver the latest Android OS to it's customers at least before the next Android Q version is released officially. So far, only the Android One version of the U11 Life has gotten the Pie update. But it's ok; I am sure there will not be many users of these phones.

We want to share the release schedule of the Android Pie updates for #HTC smartphones. The company will update the HTC U11 first, around the end of May, followed by the HTC U12 Plus in June, then finally the HTC U11 Plus at the end of June.

The sales of HTC smartphones have been getting thinner from the previous year, and the company wasn't making enough profit to stay afloat. "Please note, certain regions & carrier deployment may affect these dates", HTC announced on Twitter. Similarly, other HTC phones will not be receiving the update either.

HTC Delayed the Android Pie Update for the flagship devices, and we can not expect from such a company to provide the latest version of the Android 10 (Q). Similarly, it's safe to assume HTC won't be announcing new phones anytime soon.
