A great video for fans, the video goes into the making of the first episode of Season 8 with interviews from most everyone involved including the actors, writers, directors. This number accounts for all of HBO's platforms, including on-air viewings, HBOGO and HBO Now.

The end of the penultimate season of Game of Thrones was the best the HBO blockbuster had ever done with viewers, but last night's final season opener just put that record on ice. The 17.4 million beats the previous series high that came in the Season 7 finale, which hit 16.9 million viewers.

According to HBO, 11.8 million viewers tuned in to the show's on-air broadcast of its season 8 premiere. Though we later found out its relevance to the White Walkers, a similar design popped up again in the Season 8 premiere around the wight Ned Umber.

The episode was live for some users for hours on DirecTV Now, before it was taken down. Tweeters beware! Spoilers are coming!
