If the company is indeed working on a device having 32 MP front-facing camera sensor, there's a possibility that the phone could be Redmi Y3, the successor of the Redmi Y2 launched past year.

However, given the fact that Xiaomi is revamping its mid-range devices with all-glass bodies and Dot notch displays, we expect Redmi Y3 to get some features of the recently launched Redmi Note 7 series. Earlier this month, Xiaomi also said that the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro had crossed the milestone of 4 million units sold globally as of March 29. This suggests that Redmi might be working on a smartphone with 32 MP selfie camera. Now as per reports, Redmi might be planning to launch a new Redmi smartphone with a 32-megapixel selfie camera. "And if you were wondering, most of the respondents to the poll replied with a 'Yes" to the query.

It's understandable why some industry watchers may have concluded that the Snapdragon 855-powered Redmi flagship will have a pop-up camera particularly given the flagship's alleged full-screen approach, but if the front-facing sensor is not motorized as initially suspected then the question remains: how will the device handle selfies? Currently, handsets like the Huawei P30 series and the Vivo V15 Pro feature a 32-megapixel sensor at the front. It also comes in a 4GB RAM/64GB variant priced at ₹11,999. For those who are unaware, the Redmi Y-series is the company's lineup for the selfie-centric smartphones. All four smartphones offer Samsung's GD1 sensor.

While we know that Redmi Y3 is real and coming soon, we don't know much about its design. Also, an image of an alleged Redmi phone was released online a couple of days ago.
