Aimed at phones just a step or two behind devices powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855, the Snapdragon 730 promises improved AI, camera enhancements and better gaming.

Experience true HDR gaming forextreme realism with rich graphics and cinema-quality processing with over 1 billion shades of color.

The latest chipsets will be available for OEMs and manufacturers in a month, so smartphones running on these chips will will be available by mid-2019. He said that this is not a simple revision of the mobile phone processor, and its artificial intelligence processing capacity is 50 times that of the company's flagship mobile phone chip.

Snapdragon 665 will be succeeding the much-popular Snapdragon 660. In addition, it also comes with Spectra 165 ISP, which supports up to a 48 MP single main camera, or 16 MP dual camera, or even triple camera setups.

Along with that, the Snapdragon 730G enables 15-per cent faster performance over the 730 and supports 960fps slow-motion video.

The Snapdragon 730 has Qualcomm Spectra 350 for image processing. Qualcomm is also playing catch up with Nvidia Corp. which has built a multibillion-dollar annual business adapting its graphics chips for data-centr use. It's eclipsed the phone's battery life as one of the big reasons why people buy a particular device.

Snapdragon 665 SoC is the successor of SD 600 chipset which you can find easily in some mid-range smartphones. In an era where multiple cameras with large main sensors are gaining ground, this is another important improvement the 665 has over the 660. Connectivity features of the chipset include Snapdragon X12 LTE modem, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 5.0.

What's a Snapdragon 6-series or 7-series processor? Replacing the Snapdragon 710, the new SoC comes with on-device AI to provide "intuitive image capture, exceptional gaming, and optimized performance". Key, it has up to 15-percent faster graphics rendering over the Snapdragon 730, thanks to a faster clock speed for the Adreno 618 GPU. The Kryo 470 CPU in this year's chipset should boost performance by 35 percent. While the internals remain mostly the same, the 730G has support for HDR with 10-bit color depth and Rec 202 color gamut.

Snapdragon 730G is a variant of Snapdragon 730 that has over-clocked GPU to offer 25% faster graphics rendering. The chipset can be combined with an FHD+ display of 2520 x 1080 pixels resolution and HDR10 support. The lower power and faster CV can capture 4K HDR videos in Portrait Mode (Bokeh). You'll be able to capture photos using the HEIF format, too, meaning smaller file sizes. The problem with this last claim is that the Snapdragon 710 only appeared in a handful of midrange phones from companies like Xiaomi-a huge brand in China, but one with nearly no presence within the United States. This will help Snapdragon 730 smartphones to offer enhanced AI performance. Of particular interest is the new Snapdragon 730G, an iteration designed specifically with gamers in mind.
