Just ask Andrei Svechnikov of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Yet Svechnikov, the youngest player in this year's playoffs, went looking for a scrap, and he got everything he wanted and much more when the eight-time Rocket Richard Trophy victor dropped the gloves late in the first period and knocked the No. 2 pick in this year's draft out cold in a matter of seconds.

Ovechkin landed three consecutive daggers to Svechnikov's head as the latter swung to no avail. The Carolina forward fell to the ice and hit his head as the fight - which was always only going to have one victor - came to a quick and brutal end.

Ovechkin wished the aspiring ice hockey star Svechnikov luck, he reported.

The youngster received medical attention, his hands were shaking and he couldn't get back to his feet. Per the Raleigh News & Observer, he's out for the rest of the game.

During the NHL Playoffs, in a hotly-contested game between Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals, tempers frayed.

The 19-year-old Svechnikov who was taken No. 2 overall in last year's draft has two goals and an assist in the series.

In addition to his Game 3 fight, Ovechkin has now fought four times in his National Hockey League career.

However, the Capitals still lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
