The leak prompted the film's directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, to pen a letter to fans urging them not to ruin the film for others. Sharing the film's box office report, Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Avengers Endgame is rewriting record books". Forbes reported that 45% of its global take came from 3-D shows, and $91.5 million came from IMAX shows - double the previous record.

Combine the powers of a team of Marvel superheroes into one film and what do you get?

Avengers: Endgame box office: A still from the film. "And of course, without Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, none of this would have been possible". Thanos (Josh Brolin) returns for this movie, produced as always by Marvel's Kevin Feige. The movie's domestic haul blew past the previous record of $257.7 million, set a year ago by "Avengers: Infinity War".

Seven years ago, Marvel's The Avengers became the first movie to ever debut to $200 million at the domestic box office and now Endgame has become the first ever $300 million debut in USA box office history. He also pointed out that the film's theatre count (2800 screens) is a fraction of what the biggest Hindi films are released in.

On the first day, the film had collected 53.10 crores and now on the second day too it has maintained the momentum, what with 51.40 crores coming in. A record estimated Saturday of $109 million and a record estimated Sunday of $84.3 million bring the estimated debut to $350 million across three days from an all-time industry high 4,662 theaters.

Despite the fact Endgame marks an, uh, end point for the Avengers series as viewers know it, it seems unlikely Marvel Studios' parent company Disney will quit pumping out the superhero content any time soon. The websiteDeadlineis more boldly predicting sales of $358.5 million for the opening weekend.
