Last year's beaten finalists Liverpool will play Porto and Ajax will face Juventus in the other ties.

Manchester City are most likely to be crowned the winners of the Champions League this season.

He re-signed for Ajax in 2002 and eventually found his way to Fulham in 2008 but failed to make a single appearance for them and went back to Finland instead.

The Premier League champions are also a point clear of Liverpool at the top of the table and, having not lost to Tottenham since 2016, will be confident of progression in Europe too.

Last season, Messi was helpless as his side crashed out at the same stage after a stunning 3-0 loss to Roma and United will be hoping for a similarly toothless performance from the great man. He may have one eye on the quarter-final against Porto but Liverpool need to focus as they have not been flawless of late domestically. This tie looks like Liverpool all the way.

Manchester City have already won the Carabao Cup for a second successive campaign.

"I was judged in Munich like that, and I will be judged here", Guardiola told a news conference ahead of Saturday's FA Cup clash with Swansea City (live at 1:20 p.m. ET on ESPN+).

Five-time champion Liverpool got a rematch against Porto, the team they beat in the last 16 last season.

However, fans will have cringed when United were coughed up alongside Barcelona on Friday, in what can only be described as the worst possible draw for the Manchester side. The semi-finals will take place on April 30 and May 1, before the return fixtures on May 7 and 8. "Now we know it, let's prepare".

Real Madrid's exit will increase Barca's determination to go all the way, but they will be mindful of the threat posed by Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba for United.

Ajax last won the Champions League in 1995, while Manchester United last won in 2008 and Juventus most recently won in 1996. But for United to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2011, they will have to pull off one of the biggest results in their European history.
