Reality TV's 'Mama June' arrested on drug charges

Mama June's mug shot has surfaced online after a drug-related arrest on March 13. The pair were arrested in Macon County, Alabama for "felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia" according to police reports.

June, 39, was taken into custody on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia while her boyfriend, Geno Doak, 43, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and domestic violence. Cops found a needle and then set their sights on Mama June. The series, which details her drastic weight loss via gastric sleeve surgery and her relationship with Doak, had its season three premiere earlier this month. Shannon is the mother of Honey Boo Boo, real name Alana Shannon, who found fame after appearing on Toddlers In Tiaras.


June was also found with drug paraphernalia that included a needle and a pipe containing a white residue, as well as $1,340 in her bra.

Shannon did not immediately respond to Newsweek's request for comment.


Brunson said there were no signs of injury to Shannon or Doak and, in fact, their demeanor when deputies arrived was anything but contentious. June said the white substance was crack cocaine. Magazine, she claimed he sends her texts on scheduled days. Before Geno came along, June had reportedly reunited with her ex Mark McDaniel in 2014, who served 10 years in prison for molesting June's daughter Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, 24, when she was eight years old. "TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being".
