NFL Insider Sheds Light On Giants’ Asking Price For Odell Beckham Jr

Just last month, Glazer answered a number of mailbag questions about the National Football League offseason for The Athletic, and he predicted that the Giants would trade their #1 receiver.

The Giants have traded Odell Beckham to the Browns, according to multiple reports.

The Giants and Browns did make a deal on Friday, but Beckham wasn't involved, as the Browns acquired pass rusher Olivier Vernon for guard Kevin Zeitler.

Via Over The Cap, the Giants would take on $16 million in dead money by trading Beckham this year before June 1 (while clearing $5 million in cap space).

"We didn't sign him to trade him, if that's what you're asking me", Giants GM Gettleman said during his season-ending press conference.

The 49ers still appear interested in acquiring Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham not being part of that deal felt like it was a shore up of Dave Gettleman's comments about the Giants not being willing to trade Beckham.

There have been talks about the New York Giants considering moving Beckham since earlier in the offseason, but nothing has come to fruition.

Thanks to some in-depth research by Ben Axelrod of WKYC3, it seems the Browns may have been working this past week to gear up for a run at Beckham.

The three-time Pro Bowl player was originally selected by NY out of LSU with the 12th pick in the 2014 draft. The Pro Bowl wideout, who's 26 now, has topped 1,000 receiving yards in each season that he's played in 12 or more games (four of five). He missed the final four games of the regular season due to a quadriceps injury.
