The talented guard was dominant in February, averaging 24.5 points, 5.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 53.2 percent in 35.1 minutes over 10 games.

7, Senior NBA Insider for Yahoo Sports Chris Haynes reported that the Lakers front office and training staff came to a decision and placed James on a minutes-per-game restriction, meaning he will miss games where they play back-to-back nights and will also be limited to around 30 minutes per game moving forward.

One thing for certain is that James will be returning to Chicago with the Lakers next season, unlike Walton, who is widely rumoured to be on borrowed time.

They're on a five-game losing streak through Sunday's games, with major injuries, and reports that LeBron James will play limited minutes for the remainder of the season.

LeBron James might miss out on the National Basketball Association playoffs this season but the Lakers forward is confident he will be back in the postseason mix in years to come.

After the game, James told reporters he still feels bouncy and that he's going to finish out the season strong despite all signs point toward Los Angeles missing the playoffs. He passed Michael Jordan for fourth on the all-time scoring list last week and broke the hearts of Chicago Bulls fans in many other ways before then.

A quarter later, James hauled in a high, bouncing outlet pass to throw down a reverse jam.

The Lakers will be continuing their road-trip on Thursday night against the Toronto Raptors.

Although the team is not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, odds are certainly against the Lakers with just 15 games remaining.

"I would've assumed that we got hit with a lot of injuries".

Did James feel particularly bouncy on this Windy City night?

And James says the final matches of the season could be crucial in helping the young Lakers squad.

"That's what he does", Walton said. But he wants to win. I know that [missing the playoffs] hasn't happened to him since early, early, early in his career. "It felt like everybody got shots tonight".
