If you've been playing the latest battle royale extravaganza from Respawn, you'll notice there's no Apex Legends battle pass available.

The plot twist: EA shares were up more than 13% on Friday afternoon. While the game is a traditional battle royale affair, of course, it's a somewhat different spin on the formula, as it kind of crosses Fortnite with Overwatch. Most of those reporting the issue unsurprisingly seem to come from the United Kingdom, but there are plenty of people in Europe and in scattered areas over the USA seeing server issues.

Apex Legends is a game that will continue to evolve and improve, as players provide meaningful feedback.

Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Art's hot new game hasn't even been out for a week, but the tech gurus over at Digital Foundry have already put the game to test on all available console platforms. That could be a cause for concern, but since it's following a format nearly identical to the other battle royale games on the market, it will likely cost no more than around $15/£15 at the absolute maximum. In addition, we've also covered in detail how the game's monetization works. Not only is it the publisher's first attempt at chasing the battle royale dollar, but it's free-to-play, effectively replacing Titanfall 3 and progression is built around loot boxes.

Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends has sparked an wave of discussion in the gaming community, the focal point of this discussion seems to be based around the idea that Apex Legends is a "Fortnite killer". However, it's unclear what that will look like or how it fits into what will probably be another busy release schedule of games this year.

The one thing that you won't be able to obtain from the Apex Legends battle pass is new Legends. Doing this should see a tick appear next to your username above your chosen Legend, replacing your Player Level. How are you liking it? Do let me know in the comments if this fix worked for you.
