Joy Behar and ABC were silent Thursday after an old photo resurfaced of "The View" co-host using makeup to darken her skin for a Halloween costume, the latest flashpoint in a week when a series of blackface scandals made national headlines. Joy was 29-years-old at the time and she told the audience that although her curly hair was natural, she used "makeup that was a little bit darker".

Surprised at Behar's appearance in the photo, former co-host Raven-Symoné jokingly asked her, "Are you my auntie?"

"I had makeup that was a little bit darker than my skin", Behar explained.

Ingraham and Behar sit on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but Ingraham tweeted her support Thursday despite of their differences over politics.

A firestorm of political controversy hit Virginia recently after an alleged yearbook photo of Governor Ralph Northam, a Democrat, dressed in either blackface or a KKK robe, resurfaced online.

The clip, re-shared by The Wrap media editor Jon Levine, begins with Behar referencing a New York Times Style Magazine op-ed arguing that curly hair was "making a comeback". "Do you have tanning lotion on?"

She added, "I was 29". She stressed, however, that the hair was all hers.

Reacting to Raven-Symoné's clear change of tone, Behar asked, "Why are you upset with me now?" Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring, who'd previously called for Northam's resignation, later admitted that he too had dressed in blackface, sparking calls for his ouster as well.

"I don't see how that is racist on Halloween", said Kelly, remarking on a cast member from Bravo's Real Housewives of NY getting into trouble for dressing up as legendary singer Diana Ross. "Joy Behar actually wore blackface, and admitted it, and showed a picture of it on TV, yet she still has her job". Florida Secretary of State Michael Ertel resigned last month after a photo surfaced showing him wearing blackface and dressing as a "Hurricane Katrina victim".
