Ms Obama delivered a message on women empowerment alongside Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys and Jada Pinkett-Smith, delighting the audience.

Former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance on the Grammys stage on Sunday.

"I guess you were a hit at the Grammys", Robinson texted with a smiley face.

"Did you meet any of the real stars or did you run right after you were done", asked Robinson, who wrote that she only knew to watch because someone named Gracie had let her know. Mom replied she saw it and then asked if her daughter had met "any of the real stars".

Obama responds, "I told you I was going to be on it".

Obama wrote about her modest Chicago upbringing in her memoir, Becoming, which also details how Robinson resisted offers to move into the White House before finally agreeing for the sake of her granddaughters.

"This text is so typically you", Obama replied. Michelle has even informed her about the surprise appearance, but her mom waved her off!

"Music shows us that all of it matters, every story, every voice, every note, in every song".

Mother-daughter relationships aren't any easier when you're famous. 'I was anxious about my grandkids'.

Michelle Obama appeared at the 2019 Grammys alongside Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez.

'She had a stream of people. They would all stop by.

"Yeah", her mom responded. When I wasn't home at the end of the day, grandma was there.

What do you think of the exchange? And I just thought that that's an unnatural way for a little 2nd grader to go to school.
