"It just didn't work out".

Neither Carino or Gaga have commented on their split yet.

Lady Gaga and her ex-fiance, Christian Carino, have called it quits.

Speculation began that the couple was taking time apart when eagle-eyed fans noticed that Gaga, 32, was not wearing her engagement ring at the Grammy Awards on February 10. She also didn't mention Christian during her acceptance speech when she (and Bradley Cooper) won the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The Shallow singer sparked speculation they had called time on their relationship last weekend, as she appeared solo on the red carpet at the Grammys, without her huge, $400,000 (£304k) engagement ring.

She also posted a photo of music notes tattooed on her forearm to the tune of her musical moniker, 'G A G A'.

"Relationships sometimes end", a source told People magazine, revealing that the two split "a bit ago".

Although rumors of an engagement between Gaga and Carino swirled for a while after she debuted a pink diamond ring in late 2017, the couple didn't confirm the news until October 2018, when she thanked "my fiancé Christian" during her speech at Elle's 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration.

The insider continued, "But things just became serious very fast. Christian is a good, grounding force and understands her career". He even planted a kiss on her cheek after she took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

The Oscars will air live Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC.
