In the midst of strong rumours linking Durant with a move to the Knicks this summer, it may be beyond coincidental that the Knicks used the Golden State Warriors star in their promotional material. So much so, they're already trying to sell him to season ticket holders. A few factors have given its use extra scrutiny.

Kevin Durant spoke for the first time about his contentious press conference with the media last Wednesday, during a hit with ESPN's Get Up on Monday morning.

But that has come to an end, as the team announced it has removed the photo with Durant's likeness and released the following statement about their decision. "To be clear, it was one of several rotating photos on the website", according to the statement.

The portal that provides more season-ticket information had a photo of Mitchell Robinson with Durant standing in the background.

Durant has won two consecutive National Basketball Association titles since joining the Warriors as a free agent before the 2016-17 season.

The Knicks will reportedly have $70 million in cap space at the end of the season and were recently crowned the most valuable team in the National Basketball Association, at an evaluation of $4 billion.

As the Daily News pointed out, the National Basketball Association fined the Atlanta Hawks in 2013 after a letter that mentioned a pair of impending free agents, Dwight Howard and Chris Paul, was sent to prospective ticket buyers.

Durant is averaging 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.
