But Twitter users couldn't help, but notice that the Royal Albert Hall fell completely silent when the couple made their way down the steps to take their seats at the front of the auditorium.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a white one-shoulder Alexander McQueen gown and Jimmy Choo heels to the event. The dress featured a floral motif on the shoulder and ruffled detailing. The two made a special appearance at the BAFTA Awards, since the Duke is the BAFTA President.

The 72nd edition of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts was held yesterday in London.

Unlike this year, Middleton's dress for the 2018 BAFTAs received criticism as the duchess wore a dark green gown instead of black like most other celebrity attendees. Spectacular jewelry, particularly diamond bracelet of Queen Elizabeth II and a pair of earrings from the personal box of Princess Diana, added royalty to the image of the Duchess of Cambridge. While they were there, William also presented the Fellowship award to editor Thelma Schoonmaker as well.
