Hollow Knight: Silksong is the epic sequel to Hollow Knight, the award winning action-adventure of bugs and heroes.

Discover a whole new kingdom: Explore coral forests, mossy grottos, gilded cities and misted moors as you ascend to the shining citadel at the top of the world.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is in development for Nintendo Switch and PC.

Team Cherry has just announced a sequel to its acclaimed Metroidvania platformer, Hollow Knight. After she escapes, you'll want to explore the land and figure out just why Hornet was captured. That means a new map full of handsome art, boss monsters, and towns of cute bug people.

Team Cherry says that Hornet's adventure was always meant to take place in a new world, but while it was originally supposed to be a DLC, "it quickly became too large and unique to stay a DLC". The trailer really hammers home the vast amounts of new content with new friends, quests, towns, tools, secrets, and more. All that Team Cherry is divulging about this mode is it unlocks after beating the main game and provides "a unique, challenging experience". Christopher Larkin is also returning to compose the score for Hollow Knight: Silksong.

"Higher tier backers who received multiple copies of Hollow Knight will also receive multiple copies of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the same rules apply as for Hollow Knight". No release date is provided at this time, but unlike the previous game it'll launch on Switch alongside the PC version rather than coming later. Unfortunately, no release window of any kind has been given. You can read the team's entire blog post here.
