Drake and Kendrick Lamar have the most nominations this year and both artists could win a Grammy for album of the year, record of the year, or both!

"This is going to be a special Grammys". As much as it is about me, it's not just about me.

While last year's show was held in NY - for the first time since 2003 - the 61st Grammys are back in Los Angeles. "I relax more ... when I know that I am supported by other women ... and I feel like I can do anything". Eastern from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Sunday's show will include performances by Diana Ross, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Dolly Parton, Janelle Monae, Shawn Mendes, Katy Perry, Ricky Martin and Red Hot Chili Peppers. In addition to other general field categories, Glover, Drake and Lamar all earned record of the year nominations for This Is America, God's Plan and All the Stars, respectively. Women also have a strong presence in those top categories, including Lady Gaga, SZA, Maren Morris and Ella Mai.

The three-and-a-half hour extravaganza will feature performances from nominees Chloe X Halle, Grammy-winner Lady Gaga (choosing this over the Bafta film awards), fellow victor Mark Ronson and Grammy nominee Travis Scott fresh off his performance at Super Bowl LIII. "As much as it is about me, it's not just about me", said Monae, who gave a powerful speech a year ago ahead of Kesha's emotional and striking performance celebrating sisterhood and women's rights. "I hope you do, dad".

"This is just the beginning of moving to a more inclusive future", Monae said. This marks yet another rough year for the Grammys.

Ariana Grande also won her first Grammy in the same week that she publicly blasted Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich and accused him of lying about why she was no longer performing at the show.

On Thursday, Grande broke her silence and shot back at Ehrlich in a series of tweets. "Thank you @RecordingAcad #Grammys #Grammy and my co-writers and Bradley I love you so much thank you", the pop star wrote Sunday night before the show.

Carlile told the AP she stands "behind Ariana Grande's decision to stand up for herself and her art".

"I've got nothing to say, I'm speechless", she said.

When she returned onstage for her second win, she was in shock.

Kendrick Lamar has the most nominations of the night with eight. Taylor Swift, who was snubbed and scored one nomination, also won't be at the show.

"When they don't take home the big prize", he said, "the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continues to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad".

Gaga, now an eight-time Grammy victor, won best pop solo performance for "Joanne", while her hit "Shallow" was named best song written for visual media. There will also be a tribute to the late Aretha Franklin, who died last August.

"I've been able to find zen moments leading up to all this".
