"How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you - none of that has changed".

"He's anxious about Meghan and wants her to slow down", says the source.

It turns out, according to unnamed close friends cited in People - whose aim, they said, was merely to "speak the truth" - Makle remains in many ways the same domestically gifted person she was before she pivoted to palace life. One LA friend spoke about her caring ways, when she visited the Duchess in London.

And next week, Meghan is due to attend the gala performance of The Wider Earth, in support of charity, Queen's Commonwealth Trust. "We [the group of friends in Markle's inner circle] worry about what this is doing to her and the baby". I have one father.

Earlier this week, she described Meghan's lack of a relationship with their father as yet another invented illness, writing, "I don't think people understand. It's wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they're pregnant".

He has had no contact with the Duchess of Sussex since just before her wedding to Prince Harry in May and agreed with Morgan that she had "ghosted" him.

"That's how she plays with them", they continued. "Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can fix our relationship.' Because every time her team has to come to her and fact-check something [he has said], it's an arrow to the heart", the insider explained. She was hearing about her father's condition, his heart attack, through the tabloids.

"The next morning when the vehicle got there (to take him to the airport), he wouldn't get in". It was like, "Please pick up".

"I was with her last month, and she was going on a public engagement".

They claim that Meghan, 37, remains the same, down-to-earth woman she was before, and cooks for her and Harry, 34, every day.

While the full article is in the magazine itself (and I'm flying to Hawaii later today so you best BELIEVE I'm buying it the second I land), People's site has some choice quotes, while U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America also reported on some of the interview.

He told the program his texts to Meghan were simple: "I just keep asking her to respond back to them". "Did you hear anything I said?"

They added that they had even had the opportunity to visit the couple's cottage. She's a good listener who is interested in people and passionate about her work. They said he has never tried to get in touch, and her private number has never changed.
