"The Redmi Note 7 gets a 6.3" Full HD+ display that comes with a tiny notch at the top. It also has a radically different design, especially for Xiaomi smartphones-a 2.5D glass back panel with dual tone gradient.

The biggest surprise with the Redmi Note 7 is its price. Following the tradition, the company has unveiled the Redmi Note 7 that aims to offer consumers the best of all things at an extremely competitive price. The Redmi Note 7 has a 48-megapixel rear camera, all-around decent specs, and starts at just 999 CNY or $147. Under the hood of the Redmi Note 7, you'll find Qualcomm's midrange system-on-a-chip, the Snapdragon 660.

Overall, the Redmi Note 7 is a huge step up from the current Redmi Note 6 Pro.

To inspire greater confidence, the Redmi Note 7 is now covered by an 18-month warranty instead of the usual 12 months.

We've earlier reported about Xiaomi's plans to spin-off Redmi as a new sub-brand and the launch of a possible high-end 48 MP flagship phone to do the honors. Now it looks like the Chinese electronics conglomerate is all set to launch the successor to the Redmi Note 6 Pro soon. The Note 7 includes a primary camera of 48MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture on the back, while the secondary camera includes a 5MP sensor for portrait shots. The storage space can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card.

Also on-board: a 4,000mAh battery, fast charging (the fast charger is an extra option that costs only 10 CNY ($1.5)), an IR blaster, a fingerprint scanner on the back, a USB-C connector and (mercifully) a headphone jack.

After the price cut, Redmi Y2 is available for a starting price of Rs 8,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 7 in three models in China. As for the connectivity options, we get Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type-C port. It is important to note that the Redmi Note 7 India launch details are yet to be revealed by Xiaomi, but like all Redmi Note phones, we believe the Redmi Note 7 will also hit the Indian shores.
