Boston Celtics teammates Jaylen Brown and Marcus Morris were involved in a heated altercation during a timeout last night in Miami, as their four-game winning streak came to a screeching halt. Miami had 33 assists on 45 field goals.

The Boston Celtics played the Heat close the first 17 minutes of the game, but then Miami started to pull away halfway through the second quarter. Marcus Smart followed behind with 18 points and Jayson Tatum contributed 17 points as well. Wade had 12 of his 19 in the second half for Miami, which snapped a two-game slide.

Despite some early struggles, the Celtics are still the fifth seed in the East, and 4.5 games out of first at 25-15. They trailed for 4:14 in the first quarter alone Thursday, and that set the tone for the game. The loss came 24 hours after Boston scored a season-high 135 points in a win over Indiana.

LAKERS: LeBron James likely will miss at least three more games after being cleared to increase his on-court activity in his comeback from a groin injury. "I wouldn't let nobody else get it".

Earlier this season, knowing that it was his final one, Wade began exchanging jerseys with some of his adversaries.

Heat: It was Miami's 400th consecutive home sellout. The last meeting between the clubs, before Thursday, came on December 20, 2017. The Celtics played every other National Basketball Association team at least once in 2018; the Heat played every team besides Boston and Golden State, who they last faced on December 3, 2017 and won't see for the first time this year until February 10 in Oakland. Boston didn't take a free throw until 10:31 remained in the third quarter.

Miami led by as many as 26 shortly after halftime, then saw the Celtics peel off 16 unanswered points before bouncing back.
