The 39-year-old funnyman appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday and chatted about his decision to quit the prestigious role due to criticism of his past tweets and routines mocking gay people. It looks like Kevin Hart will not be hosting the 2019 Academy Awards, Deadline reports.

He added, "The only clip that I have seen all over the media is the one where I go, 'Stop!"

In a supportive conversation, DeGeneres came to Hart's defense against his critics, telling him, "Don't pay attention to them; they are a small group of people who are very, very loud". Lemon said. "We couldn't find [an apology]... and if you can find one, feel free to send it our way".

Hart was encouraged by DeGeneres' acceptance of his apology and reconsidered hosting the Oscars again, says Deadline, but ultimately he didn't want his presence to be a distraction from the night's celebrations. "If the fight from the LGBTQ community is equality, that's the fight", he said.

"I don't have a homophobic bone in my body", Hart said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. After some delay, the comedian eventually tweeted an apologetic explanation. Teachers are great teachers when they LEARN how to get thru to kids correctly, " he wrote, going on to include several different professions. However, with the Oscars coming up quickly and no new host having been announced, people are wondering if Hart will be the host.

The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday (January 4) where the chat-show urged him to rethink his decision not to host next month's ceremony, which is now host-less. "I think we just have to accept that outcome".

In an Instagram post on Saturday, the embattled comedian addressed the backlash that has stemmed from his Q&A with DeGeneres, in which DeGeneres revealed that she personally contacted the Academy and recommended that Hart be reinstated as Oscars host.

Hart also told DeGeneres that he wants to just apologize and move on from this controversy.

In the caption, Hart wrote, "When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge".
