Samsung has officially confirmed its newly minted Galaxy M series is coming to India on Monday, January 28. However, a new Reuter report claims that phones under the budget M series will first launch in India before heading to other markets, in a bid to regain ground ceded to Chinese rivals such as Xiaomi in the world's second-biggest mobile phone market. So expect their specifications and features comparable to phones from the likes of Xiaomi, Honor, Realme, etc.

The tech company did not confirm the names of the smartphones it plans to launch in the country on January 28, but they are likely to be called the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20. "That's a significant jump in our online part", said Asim Warsi, senior vice-president, Samsung India. As the company has said it is partnering with Amazon to sell this new series in India. We have already opined on whether the Galaxy M series could bring about Samsung's resurgence in the budget segment.

Last year, Korean publication ET News reported that Samsung is killing off its low-end J series of phones.

While Samsung M10 is expected to be priced Rs 9500, Samsung M20 can be around Rs 15,000 mark, having Infinity-V display, which will be available for the first time in India. The Galaxy M30 is the top dog with a 6.3” screen and huge 5,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy M10 is the smallest of the bunch with a 6” display and 3,400mAh battery.

In their press release, Samsung has refused to share details about the specs and features, and have said, "Samsung's new range of Galaxy M smartphones come with powerful display, powerful camera, powerful battery and a powerful processor helping the smartphones deliver power-packed performance for young millennials".
