The game is titled Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. To start, it appears that a second character can back you up in the middle of a fight similar to games like Marvel vs. Capcom. The game is available for pre-order now at www.battleforthegrid.com with a price tag of $19.99. Both versions include the bonus V2 Green Ranger skin and digital artbook. A $40 digital collector's edition contains the full game and the Season One DLC which features "three new characters, their Arcade story, and a new warrior skin".

Unlike conventional fighting games, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid will abandon the quarter-circle moves. The developers also claim the game is a "easy to learn" but a "hard to master game", which indicates an emphasis on timing like the smartphone games. According to the official announcement, the fighting game eschews complicated controls in favour of a more simplified system, stating "the depth is knowing when to strike, not how". Players will be challenged to test their skills online against friends and other players around the world, providing endless replayability.

New content and game modes will be released throughout the year, with new ways to play and compete. Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid is slated to hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in April 2019. Even when players change their platform, their mission progress they have worked to achieve will still be available to them, allowing for cross-progression and true seamless gameplay no matter where they play.

It seems that Battle for the Grid could be an enhanced version of the mobile game, released to coincide with Power Rangers' 25th anniversary. The game is being published by Hasbro and Lionsgate Games.
