Kelly’s Lawyer Addresses Sexual Abuse Allegations

R Kelly has denied all allegations of sexual misconduct and abusive treatment of women and underage girls, including those that there uncovered in the recent documentary Surviving R Kelly.

R. Kelly's lawyer spoke out in defense of the "I Believe I Can Fly" singer in a pre-taped interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" this morning.

Officials found that Kelly's involvement in the Spring Break Jam meant that the event didn't meet the criteria established for third party interests who want to lease space from the state (in this case, at the Illinois State Fairgrounds where the event would have been held). "I haven't heard from anyone because there's no facts to back up these claims", Greenberg said.

Greenberg noted that Kelly's spirits are high and that "he's out and about" while also praising him as a "phenomenal" artist and highlighting that there has been an increase in streams of his music since the documentary aired. Kitti Jones says the R&B singer physically abused her, as well as accusing him of sexual coercion, emotional manipulation and controlling her life.

R. Kelly performs in concert at Barclays Center on September 25, 2015 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

Greenberg told the Associated Press: 'The allegations aren't true because he never knowingly had sex with an underage woman, he never forced anyone to do anything, he never held anyone captive, he never abused anyone'.

After the Cook County State's Attorney's Office was notified, cops made contact with the women, who said they were with the 52-year-old singer by choice, TMZ reported.

At the same time, Greenberg said he didn't think Kelly's career would be hurt by the allegations.

More recently, many said he runs a hidden "sex cult" of women manipulated and abused to stay away from the outside world and under his control.

Greenberg has also said that R. Kelly did not know the late singer Aaliyah was 15 when he married her. "And, in order to get married, she had to lie about her age".
