And although the royal is out on duty today during his wife, Kate Middleton's 37th birthday, it is expected that they will spend the evening together alongside their children.

Thanking fans for their kinds messages, Kensington Palace tweeted a stunning photo of the duchess alongside the caption: "Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages on The Duchess of Cambridge's birthday".

The card was made by Alma Shahar, six, whose father Yair Shahar, 49, had been given critical treatment by the air ambulance after being run over by a auto when cycling in Edmonton, north London, in 2016.

This year will be Kate's first birthday as a mother-of-three, after giving birth to Prince Louis on April 23, 2018.

English also shared a close-up of the card that the children made, which reads: "To Princess Kate, I hope you've had the best birthday you could ever imagine". Happy early birthday to the royal!

The duke also mentioned his three children - George, 5, Charlotte, 3, and Louis, 8 months.

Back in 2017, the royal opened up about the impact gardening had on her family while visiting London's Robin Hood Primary School: "I've got such fond memories of being in the garden and being outside from my own childhood, and I'm sharing that with my own children, George and Charlotte, at the moment".

He arrived in style: William, who worked as an air ambulance pilot for around two years in East Anglia, touched down in one of the London Air Ambulance charity's helicopters.

She represented her school playing tennis, hockey and netball during her time there.

She graduated in 2005 with a 2:1 in History of Art from St Andrews University, where she met and began dating William, whom she married in 2011.
