Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is all set to hit the theatrical screens with her next release Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

Kangna's movie "Manikarnika", however, is based upon the life and struggle of Queen of Jhansi state Rani Laxmibai against the British forces in India.

According to ANI, the Maharashtra wing of Karni Sena said that if the "image of Rani Laxmi Bai is maligned in the film or if she is shown to be the lover of some Britisher, then the makers will face consequences".

President Ram Nath Kovind watched Kangana Ranuat's forthcoming film Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi at a special screening, which was organised at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Friday, where the cast of the film was also felicitated. Despite obtaining a certificate from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), the Karni Sena has asked the actress to show him the film. Manikarnika will face the same outcome. After Padmaavat, Karni Sena is out to hamper the release of this period drama. As the film gears for its big release on January 25, it has met with another roadblock. In her official statement, Kangana Ranaut added that they should know she is also a Rajput and will destroy each one of them. The film is produced by Zee Studios in association with Nishant Pitti and Kamal Jain.

In this film, Kangana has also tried her directorial skills for the first time in the film for a few portions only. Joshi has penned the dialogues and lyrics of the songs in the film and was even present at the launch of the song "Bharat" earlier this week and even went on to say that the message in the movie is "Desh Prem Jatao" (Express Love for your motherland).
