Cesc Fabregas has completed his move from Chelsea to Monaco.

Sarri said: "As you know very well I am not in control of the transfer market".

Fabregas scored 22 goals in 198 appearances for Chelsea, having arrived from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

"It feels like it was last week I started playing professionally and now it is over 15 years", a reflective Fabregas told Chelsea's official website.

Nevertheless, Monaco have already progressed in both domestic cup competitions since the turn of the year, and the arrival of Fabregas takes the number of signings made by Monaco in the January window to three already.

It is hoped he will play a key role in helping the 2017 Ligue 1 champions avoid relegation.

"It makes sense for everybody - a happy ending for Cesc Fabregas and Chelsea".

On an global level, he won two European Championships (in 2008 and 2012) and was also part of the La Roja squad which won the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

"This is obviously a very good technical reinforcement for the team but we are convinced that his experience at the highest level will bring a lot to our players on and off the field".

Cesc Fabregas' final game in English football did not quite go as planned last Saturday.

Who is the ideal Fabregas replacement for Chelsea?

At just 21 years old, Nicolo Barella would certainly represent a great long-term investment for Chelsea.

The Spanish midfielder began his career in England at Arsenal after joining them from Barcelona's academy and was named as the club's captain in 2008.
