YouTube Rewind 2018 is Here and it’s a Disappointing Mess

Social media is already covered in wish-lists from fans who felt they didn't get the 2018 YouTube recap they deserved.

The video is 8:13 minutes long, and was released December 6, 2018.

At time of publication, the video has a staggering 2.2 million dislikes-more than double the 1 million likes it's garnered. "'Cause 2018 YouTube REWIND will surpass it in the next 12 hours!"

The trailer of the Deadpool sequel earned the number six spot on the YouTube Rewind list. Now, it's worth noting that all of these people may have been approached by YouTube to be a part of YouTube Rewind - much like Philip DeFranco but turned it down.

YouTube Rewind 2018 was pure hot garbage.

This puts it on track to beat last year's Rewind in terms of dislikes already - it's just 200k behind already and is now the 16th most disliked YouTube video of all-time.

Of course, controversial faces on the platform such as Logan Paul, Jake Paul, PewDiePie, and KSI, who were all pretty highly talked about throughout the year, were nowhere to be seen. Though the trio has begun working on the big screen over the past year so perhaps that's why? We're not saying Smith doesn't deserve to be in Rewind but we feel other creators who aren't A-list Hollywood actors should have been featured instead. Smith joining the platform probably the only real moment from 2018 worth talking about...

Perhaps the most interesting video on the list wa sa YouTube original series: the first episode of "Cobra Kai".

YouTuber and Drama Alert host Daniel "KEEMSTAR" Keem took note of this disparity and did some research, revealing the video to be on par with one of the most disliked videos in history - the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer.

Ministry of amusing was the only Singaporean channel selected for You-Tube's global initiative, Creators for Change, which highlights creators who tackle tough issues in society and make a positive impact globally.
