Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho claims miracle needed for top four finish

"Very hard match for us but a very hard match for them in spite of our problems, with players, with selections in spite of that it won't be easy".

"United are in a massive battle to get into the top four, even the Europa League places at the moment". They are a good team who have had a good run of results.

"I don't know if I said [that] or if I didn't, but if I used that word it is not what I feel at all". We need to not be so unlucky with problems that we have.

"Until past year I said that finishing second was a fantastic thing because of the qualities we had in comparison to the quality of the other teams that are fighting for the top four". According to the Times the Frenchman calmly stated his case saying that he has no one to pass to because the system doesn't allow players to move freely.

United have the worst defensive record outside of the bottom five this season, with a nominal first choice pairing of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof both now out with injuries.

Mourinho had claimed that anything was possible for his side and that they would not need a miracle to finish in the top four , with the chance to make up points on fourth on Wednesday.

"I think at the end of the season the top six will be the teams you think".

In an explosive rant, Mourinho also said Pogba kills the mentality of his teammates when he plays games.

"But I also know until the end of December we have eight Premier League matches to play, and with eight matches we are speaking about 24 points".

"We are going to be in difficulty again to build the team". "Why you speak about the weekend and not about the next one?" Despite that I would still find it hard to back them at the now quoted [2.5] match odds price.

"If you asked me at 11 a.m". It is another thing that someone told what I told. Only the efforts of Marcus Rashford, who collected two assists, got them back into the game and Jose Mourinho may consider making changes here.
