"We grabbed what we could and go out of the building and now we're standing out front there", Lemon said.

Law enforcement said that someone had called and claimed there were 5 bombs inside the building.

Reacting to the threat, CNN's Chris Cuomo said that everyone was "fine" despite the evacuation.

Stelter also tweeted that 58th Street outside the company's Columbus Circle headquarters has been closed down by police to traffic. He said that the bomb squad had arrived to investigate the matter.

Initial reports conflicted about the precise time of the bomb threat itself, raising questions about whether Trump's tweet might have instigated the attack.

"Basically the police are telling us it was an unsubstantiated telephone threat to the Time Warner Center", Dienst reported.

As the 11 p.m. hour began, the network was airing the "Anderson Cooper" episode taped earlier Thursday evening, returning to live programming, about the bomb threat, shortly after 11:15 p.m.

After a sweep of the building, police did not find any explosives and employees were allowed back inside the building just after 11pm.

The bomb threat was phoned-in, according to CNN. "FAKE NEWS - THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!" the tweet said.

That package was addressed to former CIA Director John Brennan, who was a contributor to the network for a time.

A Florida man named Cesar Sayoc was arrested for allegedly sending them and was indicted on 30 federal counts.
