Ahead of the company's annual shareholders meeting in May, CtW said CEO Elon Musk's brother Kimball Musk - as well as Antonio Gracias and James Murdoch - should be booted from the Board.

Through Friday's close Tesla shares fell more than 6 percent from their level on August 7 (just before Musk tweeted that he had "funding secured").

That said, it sounds like those kind of hours have shrunken back to slightly more reasonable levels as Model 3 production has reached internal targets.

The upgrade will enable owners to operate their vehicles remotely like a big remote controlled auto as long as it falls within the line of sight, Musk also said. "But Apple used to really bring out products that would blow people's minds, you know?" he continued. Throughout the talk, Musk couldn't stop throwing subtle shade at Apple. "I don't think a lot of people are necessarily running to a store to buy an iPhone 11". "And (they) still make great products, but there's less of that".

CtW Investment Group and elected officials from three states are urging the company to go above and beyond the legal requirements in order to protect investors.

The remarkable footage from Madison, Wisconsin, has gone viral, helped by Tesla chief executive Elon Musk himself commenting on it.

While Musk insisted that "Tesla can not die", as accelerating the advent of sustainable transport and energy production is just too important, he conceded that the transition to sustainable energy would likely still happen without it.

But that criticism may sting a little bit more coming from a Silicon Valley legend who makes cars that Apple's own employees love.

In an interview with the tech news website Recode, he added that he "probably would not" take money from Saudi Arabia after the alleged murder of Jamal Khashoggi last month.
