Now, the Marvel demons from below have reared their ugly heads and given us a PG-13 Deadpool film in the form of Once Upon a Deadpool, which will retell Deadpool 2 from in a much more family-friendly fashion. Fred filmed some new scenes for the re-release, which pays homage to his 1987 movie The Princess Bride.

A flawless family Christmas present, and might edge the movie's box office beyond the current standing of $734 million and towards the billion dollar mark!

The trailer includes some back-and-forth in the iconic bedroom set, along with Savage offering serious shade about Deadpool's bastard-child position in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: "It's like if the Beatles were produced by Nickelback".

Meanwhile Ryan revealed why he had caved into Fox's demand for a cleaner version, telling Deadline that the studio 'has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006.

'Now, this one time, I said yes on two conditions.

In addition to the Fred Savage sequences, the trailer shows a few new gags that were not in the original Deadpool 2, including one involving a couple that Ryan Reynolds' character confuses with the characters from Disney's Up.

In the United Kingdom, however, the plan has backfired a little, as Screenrant reports the rating for the supposedly family-friendly version is actually the same as the original Deadpool 2. Doh.

Not happy: The video returned to Fred and Deadpool as Fred said: 'I kinda prefer Marvel movies.' 'We are Marvel, ' the supe retorted. The film also stars Josh Brolin, Zazie Beets, and Julian Dennison and hits theaters on December 12th and will run only through Christmas Eve. "The second condition took some explaining..."

"Because it's the season of giving, we will also be giving $1 for every ticket sold to F-ck Cancer, which will be renamed Fudge Cancer just for this limited-time ad campaign", Ryan Reynolds recently said.
