National Football League uniforms are coming to 'Fortnite'

Everyone loves Fortnite: Battle Royale, including athletes. Epic Games' latest mobile-centric development update could be cause for celebration for all screen-tapping types, especially the ones who wish they could be twiddling thumbsticks instead.

The skins will hit Fortnite's in-game shop this Friday, when players will have to opportunity to purchase them. You can also buy a made-up Fortnite team jersey. Fortnite dance moves have become part and parcel of celebrations across various different sports, with France superstar Antoine Griezmann the best example of this. For reference, 1,500 V-Bucks analogs to around $15-so the skins aren't cheap.

Football fans will soon be able to support their favorite pro teams while playing Fortnite, thanks to a new partnership between developer Epic Games and the NFL.

Translation: You'll be able to wear your favorite team's jersey, make amusing gestures - like "first town" and "touchdown" - while you're playing and that thing you use to gather building materials will look like a football, or something. In addition, the uniforms will be available for both male and female avatars. You'll also be able to add a number to the outfit you pick.

"We see the popularity of "Fortnite" every day at the National Football League as many of our players are passionate about this game", said Brian Rolapp, the NFL's chief media and business officer. The NFL x Fortnite collab also includes football-themed emotes, harvesting tools, gliders and a referee outfit.
