"She obviously was and still is a huge part of the band", Mel C told bandmate Emma Bunton, who co-presents the station's breakfast show with Jamie Theakston.

Cheeky Mel B then interjected: 'But she is joining us at Wembley on June 14th, ' sparking laughter from the rest of the group.

The girls added that not taking part puts Posh in a very unique position: "She is very excited for us, and it's going to be unusual".

"I won't be joining my girls on stage again, but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour", she wrote on Instagram.

Replying to the question "who needs the money the most?"

"We should though", chipped in a mischievous Mel B.

And on BBC Radio 2 earlier, she also said "No, it's not!" when Chris Evans said the group's Wembley Stadium gig on 15 June would be their last show.

But Mel B later said: "Can I just rectify something?"

"Finally about six months ago, how it started was Mel C was like [reluctant], wasn't sure, and Mel B and Emma always wanted to do it all the way through it. I'm quite rich. I'm just doing it because I love you girls".

Media captionWhat do people really think of the announcement that the Spice Girls are going on tour? Geri quit in 1998 and they went on hiatus at the turn of the millennium.

After 9am, Melanie B, Melanie C and Geri then visited Emma at Global's headquarters to appear live on the Heart London breakfast show, which was extended beyond the normal 9am finish time. "Some of us get on with our exes".

They got together again to perform at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony. "I wouldn't be here without my girls".
