Blues fans tear into player after poor first-half vs. Crystal Palace

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has warned Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses that they must improve if they are to find a way into his system.

Sarri will be without Olivier Giroud for Sunday's home match against Crystal Palace but Eden Hazard is fit to play up to 45 minutes.

"I think the situation is that Drinkwater for me is not suitable for a midfield with two other midfielders". I suppose him being a south-east London-born footballer gave us a little bit of a homegrown element, so there's perhaps more a feeling of, "What a shame he's not here", than there maybe would be with another player.

The 27-year old has less than two years to run on his current contract at the club and Chelsea need to make a decision before the end of the season as they may prefer to cash in on their prized asset rather than allowing him to leave on a free transfer in 2020.

When asked if they still have Chelsea futures, Sarri said: "I don't know".

Sarri is keen to reduce the size of his squad but he threw out suggestions that he doesn't rotate his side enough and he says that his track record of picking the same 11 at Napoli might not be repeated at Stamford Bridge. I have to look also at the minutes in the national teams.

"I think the rotation overall is good at the moment".

'If we want to win something, then we need to be a solid team.

They'll face a Palace side that are 14th in the table having won just two of their 10 games so far but Roy Hodgons men will be in confident mood after taking a well-earned point with a 2-2 draw against Arsenal last weekend.

Fellow podcast guest Duncan Castles added: "I think it's a factor in the sense that Real Madrid have to calculate as you do when you are hiring any manager whether it's going to be successful". It is normal, if you want to play with continuity in a team like this. For me Cahill is important on and off the pitch as captain'.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to edge to a 2-0 win against Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.
