Thankfully, Ariana Grande didn't seem to mind the confusion.

"Thank you, next", Hamill wrote, which incidentally is both the title and the chorus of the latest song by Ariana Grande.

Before she released her new single Thank U, Next, she let two former flames - Big Sean and Ricky Alvarez - hear it in advance.

2018 has been a year full of diss tracks, and Ariana Grande might have just released the kindest and most elegant one yet.

The 25-year-old singer has been left heartbroken recently after battling the loss of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who passed away in September, and breaking off her engagement with Pete Davidson - whom she began dating in May and got engaged to in June - the following month. With elegance and grace, she gives a little summary about each relationship and talks about how one of them taught her love, one taught her patience and one taught her pain. He might not have known that "thank u, next" was the title of a song, but he is aware of who Grande is. This is an emotional nod to Miller, who died of a drug overdose at 26 years old on September 6.

It didn't take long for Grande to catch wind of the magical moment. The classic pop melody sounds likes something from a fairy tale and meshes perfectly with the surprisingly kind lyrics. Naturally, Ari stans far and wide are delighted "Thank U, Next" debuted at No. 1, and her mother, Joan Grande, is right there with us. The song made more than just personal history for Grande, though.
