RAJKOT: Indian cricket has a new star after Prithvi Shaw became the country's youngest batsman to score a century on debut during Thursday's Test against the West Indies.

Kohli, 72 overnight, went on to complete a 24th Test century during the morning session, after wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant fell just short of his own hundred - out for 92, with India looking well set on 470 for five.

Now, instead of throwing it towards one of the fielders, Jadeja causally walked towards the stumps with the ball in his hand and hit the bails.

With cut-throat competition at the top-order for the Men in Blue, Agarkar suggested the number six slot could be the ideal one for Pant.

When the fixtures were announced for a home series against the West Indies, there was very little excitement, considering the gulf in class between the two teams.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami then struck early to get the two West Indian openers back in the pavilion for seven runs including stand-in-skipper Kraigg Brathwaite for two.

Kohli, who played near flawless innings and looked to aim at a second double hundred against these opponents, was dismissed for 139 runs off 230 balls.

Amused with the comical situation, Jadeja was laughing away, ambling towards the non-striker's end, when he suddenly realised Hetmyer was charging to the bowler's end. The right-hander went for a wild slog but was cleaned up by Kuldeep Yadav. Meanwhile, Pant, who had slammed a hundred in his last Test at The Oval, kept smashing Bishoo and Roston Chase towards his favourite "cow corner" (deep mid-wicket) area, while Jadeja danced down the track to punish them.

Another netizen tweeted, "The run out was incredible india at a best". Eight of the 31 totals of 600 and more for India have come under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. In the 10 over of the match, when Shimron Hetmyer was on the crease batting for West Indies, Jadeja chose to tease the batsman who was in the bid of sneaking a single after Jadeja got the ball.
