Selena Gomez has reportedly checked into a mental health facility following an "emotional breakdown". It was a family member who took Selena to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

DBT - which Selena has undergone in the past - is used to treat various mental health disorders.

The 26-year-old singer - who underwent a kidney transplant last year - has been hospitalised twice in the last two weeks, with the first coming after she became despondent and emotional when she was revealed to have had an "alarmingly low" white blood cell count.

However late last week she had to be re-admitted for the same problem, but this time she reacted much worse.

Selena will be receiving dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), TMZ further reports.

"She's had a tough few weeks and the panic attack in the hospital was the tipping point", the source claims. Because she couldn't just leave, Gomez reportedly "freaked out" and had "an emotional breakdown", attempting to pull the IVs out of her arm.

It comes after Selena posted on 23rd September that she was taking a break from social media, and admitting to fans on an Instagram Live that she has suffered from depression for the past five years.

"Selena is freaking out about this", a source close to the "Slow Down" singer told Radar over the summer.

We're sending Selena lots of love and hope she is doing well. News the star had been overwhelmed by her health challenges when she broke down.

She was previously admitted to rehab in 2014, following her Lupus diagnosis, and later said it was the 'hardest but best thing she's ever done'. Just remember - negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings.
