Samsung has announced a new smartphone which the company says is the world's first to feature four rear cameras. On the front, it has 6.28-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution. The Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with 6GB / 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card).

Samsung withheld a good deal of information when it comes to the Galaxy A9 (2018)'s release date, pricing, and availability. It will be made available in select markets in November 2018. And, it has been launched in Lemonade Blue, Caviar Black and Bubblegum Pink color variants.

And Samsung has just cemented that idea by revealing a phone with a four cameras on it.

Camera number one is a 24mpx "main camera", camera two is actually a 5mpx depth sensor, the third camera is a 10mpx "telephoto" camera with upgraded optical zoom, and the final camera has an ultrawide, 120-degree lens.

With AI Scene Recognition, the A9 is able to identify the subject and adjust settings accordingly for the optimal photo. It is being dubbed Galaxy A9 (2018), Galaxy A9 Pro, Galaxy A9 Star.

The 3D curved glass back on Samsung Galaxy A9 is borrowed from flagship smartphones. Unlike the recently launched Galaxy A7, the new Galaxy A9 still sports a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options on the handset include Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, Global Positioning System and a USB Type-C port.

The Galaxy A9 has a large 3800 mAh battery, which is bigger than those aforementioned flagships, so we should be looking at a phone with an impressive battery life. Now it's 2018, and phones have more cameras on them than buttons - at least that's the case with a new Samsung Galaxy phone. For reference, the Galaxy A9 will be priced at £549 ($724 USD) when it launches in the UK.

Speaking at the event, DJ Koh, president and chief executive of the IT and mobile communications division at Samsung Electronics, said that with the Galaxy A7 and A9, the company was "showcasing Samsung's commitment to serve everyone".
