Ms Sandow was delivering a speech on the importance of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, which provides medical care for rural communities across many regions of Australia.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's first child is still another two seasons away from being born, but they're already a celebrity in their own right, dominating headlines left and right since the royal couple announced they were expecting on Monday.

Thomas Markle claimed the royal family shunned him after the staged paparazzi photo debacle just days before Meghan and Prince Harry's nuptials.

Royals are supposed to adhere to a very strict no autographs and no selfies rule, but it's not every day that a royal meets her doppelganger.

But is was adorable five-year-old Luke Vincent who melted the hearts of the crowd.

"You are the salt of the earth, honest, hardworking and as tough as they come", he said.

Harry also encouraged those suffering due to the dry weather to seek help "when you need it", referencing his struggles with mental health issues in the wake of his mother, Princess Diana's accidental death in 1997.

Daphne later told The Telegraph, "It was lovely to meet the Duchess, Meghan".

The much-needed rain began to fall about 10 minutes before their arrival and only got worse as they viewed stalls at the picnic in Victoria Park.

Harry and Meghan are following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth who visited Dubbo in 1954 and 1992.

"It´s like a marriage in a beer can", bar licensee Ryan Mackintosh told local publication the Daily Liberal.

Harry introduced her to his pregnant wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. They will be in Melbourne on Thursday.

Prince Harry and Dunne met again past year, during a day of events to mark the official launch of the Invictus Games Sydney 2018.

It was only to be expected that the news that they are expecting a baby would overshadow the first day of the tour.
