This means that activities such as hatching eggs (in the game) and receiving candy from a partner Pokémon - which work based on the distance the user has walked - will now be possible without having to launch the app. However, Niantic has done a decent job of keeping the game alive through regular updates and new features. Earlier, Pokemon Go allowed counting of steps only when the phone was awake, but after the introduction of this feature called "Adventure Sync" it will count steps in the background as well. But, what about all of the other times you're out and about?

Plus, Adventure Sync will deliver a weekly summary, where you can see your Incubator and Candy progress as well as important activity statistics.

The Adventure Sync feature as Niantic are calling it, will import your Google Fit data once you've linked your Google account and your trainer profile will be updated with the distance you've travelled, even if you don't have Adventure Pokémon GO open.

This doesn't just go towards faster egg incubation and candy found by buddies, either.

Playing Pokémon GO requires you to get off the couch and explore the world. Adventure Sync will link with Apple Health on Apple devices and Google Fit on Android devices as well, so you don't have two separate trackers to keep up with. Pokemon Go also created an app for the Apple Watch, but you still need to iPhone was nearby. And now the developer, Niantic, have announced that they are rolling out a step counter that tracks all your steps throughout the day.

The game will even award players for crossing certain milestones the further they walk.
